Organized in collaboration with the Logistics Program of the Management and Organization Department at Isparta Vocational School of Applied Sciences, Isparta University of Applied Sciences, and the ISUBÜ Aviation Community, the panel discussion titled “Careers Opening to the Skies: Cargo and Logistics” addressed Turkish Airlines cargo operations, the importance of air transport in the logistics sector, and career opportunities for students.

The event, held on October 15, 2026, in the 50th Anniversary Conference Hall of Isparta Vocational School, featured Adem Soner Sarı, Shift Supervisor of Turkish Airlines Cargo Directorate Antalya, as a speaker. The discussion, attended by academics and students, aimed to highlight the relationship between the theoretical foundations and field applications of air cargo transportation.

The event focused on the place of air cargo transportation within global supply chains, time and cost management in international trade, cargo acceptance processes, operational coordination, and practical problems encountered in logistics activities. The practical application of logistics education was evaluated, particularly in the context of air cargo operations, shift management, and the duties and responsibilities of field personnel.

The discussion also addressed the importance of digitalization in the logistics sector, the impact of technological advancements on operational processes, and the professional competencies required in air cargo transportation. Through evaluations based on industry experiences, the aim was to help students understand that logistics activities are not solely about transportation; they consist of complementary processes such as planning, coordination, risk management, security, and timely delivery.

The career-focused section of the event addressed employment opportunities in the air cargo sector for logistics program students, professional development processes, and key skills in the workplace. The importance of supplementing theoretical knowledge gained during university education with field experience was emphasized, and evaluations were provided to help students plan their professional careers.

The event, aiming to strengthen university-sector interaction and enhance students' professional awareness, concluded with a presentation by IMYO Deputy Director Lecturer. Dr. Esra ÇETİNCELİ and the Isparta Gül Ürünleri Sepeti and ISUBÜ Aviation Community Advisor Lecturer Barış IŞILDAK presented the guest with a Certificate of Appreciation. The event concluded after a group photo session with the participants.
