Isparta University of Applied Sciences, Isparta Vocational School, Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services Department students participated in a "Professional Knife Training" program as part of a sector-university collaboration.


The event, held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM in the Isparta Vocational School 50th Anniversary Conference Hall, brought together representatives from Pirge Knives, a well-established brand in the sector, with aspiring chefs. The training, aimed at reinforcing the basic equipment culture in gastronomy and culinary arts, was completed with high participation from students and academic staff.


During the training, expert guests Fırat Erbil and Serkan Ergin presented on:


The production stages and material technology of industrial and professional knives,


Correct knife selection and functional usage techniques in the kitchen,


Ergonomics, kitchen safety, and cutting standards,


Sharpening and periodic maintenance methods to maintain the lifespan and performance of knives, all through detailed technical presentations and practical demonstrations.


At the end of the program, which significantly contributed to the students' professional development and equipment proficiency, professional chef's knives were presented to the students as a result of the evaluations conducted.


The event concluded with a group photo session after expressing gratitude to Fırat Erbil, Serkan Ergin, and the Pirge Knife family for their valuable contributions that strengthened the students' industry knowledge and experience.
